Who is eligible for the £7,500 heat pump grant?
UK homeowners in England, Scotland, and Wales with an existing heating system can apply. Your property must meet certain energy efficiency standards (EPC rating C or above recommended), and the work must be carried out by an MCS-certified installer.

What types of heat pumps are covered by the grant?
The grant covers air source heat pumps (both air-to-water and air-to-air systems) and ground source heat pumps. Both types qualify for the full £7,500 grant amount under the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
How much does a heat pump cost with the grant?
Air source heat pumps typically cost £8,000-£14,000 before the grant. With the £7,500 grant applied, your out-of-pocket cost would be £500-£6,500. Ground source systems are more expensive (£18,000-£28,000) but also receive the full grant.
When does the heat pump grant end?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is currently funded until 2028, but funding is limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend checking your eligibility as soon as possible to secure your grant.
Will a heat pump work in my home?
Heat pumps work effectively in most UK homes. They're particularly suitable for properties with good insulation and modern radiators or underfloor heating. Our approved installers will conduct a free survey to confirm your home's suitability.
